         ADULT FICTION

CHILDREN'S FICTION>

-------------------------Power, survival, seduction, treachery and madness all articles to be negotiated at the ‘Institution,’ an edifice in which Henry, Michael, Jim, Brenda, Martin Kranster and many others spend their days bedeviled by illusory plots. Henry is about to become father to an ‘unknown’ child and a collective bargaining agreement whose substance has become part of the endless thoughts in his restless mind.

----------------------------‘Young Ski,’ would-be-opportunist-turned moralist-clown and his alter-ego buddy, ‘Dr.’ Winthrop, (who has even greater ambivalence and less ambition) live in an era beset by an economic malaise that coexists with resurgent elitism. There is much decadent fun and foolish sorrow in such a time. The individuals peopling the ‘Insecurities Business’ have personas borrowed from economic philosophers and Greek gods. The female characters are ciphers for fallen women representing America. There is much parody and perhaps some illumination behind the semi-serious espousal of the principals relating to ‘Sexual Finance.’

-----------------------------A televangelist, a powerful politician, a femme fatale media-personality --get what they want... The flavor of the film (screenplay) is 'dark' comedy and the medium of choice would be black & white. The effect desired is one of reality (cinema verite') mixed with a deft exaggeration of style and character without being heavy-handed. The method is CAMERA as WITNESS and the film hopefully will be one of humor and substance.

--------------------------------A story concerning the elicitation of the FACTS pertaining to the Guilty at the end of the World.

------------------------------------A man of uncertain identity hungers for the gifts of life which he imagines must be seized through conflict or seduction. Perhaps he is sleepwalking when his soul awakens and demands excitement. But without love all is wistful. At first he entices himself with a strange looking woman. Soon there will be three other women, and adventurous phenomena that forewarn of illusory rewards or ruin.

----------------------------------------The Higher-Man Thing... Steven's last film attempt had pretensions of dealing with the puzzle of human redemption. He had steeped himself with tomes of moral philosophy in preparation, --enough to be a walking encyclopedia. Knowing what he does, compared with his meager and declining state in the world, seems like an ironic joke between Providence and himself. Perhaps what he needs is the reappearance of corporeal reality in the shape of the hard man who tried to shape him into what he could have become --his training sergeant from the military. ‘Sarge,’ however, is losing his mind. Then there’s Buzzo, a beer-swilling alcoholic with neurological problems. If Cinema was the fruitless whore for his loneliness, there are others to choose from.

-------------------------------------------A tale about the meaning of success: (JOHNNY meets LEW on the boardwalk, "See kid, I know the secrets of success... --the ability to be able to take others for granted coupled to the ability to believe in yourself even if you have NO IDEA what you're doing..."
