It is hard to believe that the turn of the century is upon us. WNY has rapidly grown from infancy to adolescence without forgetting its corporate values, its residents, employees and shareholders. Our corporate Mission Statement says it all:
The caring professional staff of WNY Group, Inc. is dedicated to providing each of our residents with a quality home within our family of apartment communities, and is committed to satisfying their needs with uncompromised integrity.
As a socially conscious company community involvement, ethics, employee education and growth, honesty and integrity are values which govern our existence and guarantee our Company's future growth from adolescence to maturity.
The year 2000 will be a challenge to us all. Technology is the key to everything that happens in our lives. The apartment management business, while technologically challenged today, will become technologically proficient tomorrow. Within a short time, each of our properties will be wired for direct high-speed Internet access, cable television will be replaced by satellite television providers and phone service will be radically changed. Electric deregulation will open the way for new electric providers not only to the apartment industry but to each resident, the ultimate consumers. At WNY we have spent the last year working through Y2K issues to make sure that our computer systems, elevators, pumps and heating controls will not be affected. Please remember we cannot control problems emanating from outside of your community but we will do our best if a problem should arise. Your cooperation, understanding and assistance during this period would be appreciated.
Highlighted in our newsletter are five terrific individuals who give of themselves to ensure that quality maintenance and standards are provided to our residents. WNY recognizes that without quality maintenance and the quality approach to maintenance problems, we would be critically lacking in our commitment to residents. In the coming year, senior management will continually emphasize the importance of our maintenance staff and highlight their accomplishments.
May you, your family and loved ones enjoy a happy, safe and healthy new year.

       Peter J. Weidhorn, President/CEO
